Russian pavilion in Cannes

The initiators and organizers of the Russian pavilion within the framework of the Cannes Film Festival since 2008 were: Sovexportfilm and the Russian Film Network non-profit foundation with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The non-profit foundation "Russian Film Network" was created by Golden Key entertainment in 2007. One of the members of the board of directors of the fund was Vladimir Kilburg.

The purpose of organizing the Russian pavilion was populization of Russian cinema and the possibilities of our film industry on the world market, as well as expand the participation of the Russian professional film community in international projects.

The Russian pavilion provided an opportunity for international filmmakers and distributors to establish contacts with representatives of the Russian film business - film studios, film institutes, professional organizations, production and distribution companies.

Foreign professionals receive an updated information on the possibility of joint filmmaking with Russia, on participation in domestic festivals, on the distribution of Russian films abroad, on the organization of filming in Russia, etc.

The Russian pavilion has proven its effectiveness and, as a result, received an annual status from the Cannes Film Festival management.
